A Women’s Winter Retreat has been scheduled for Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 at Lewisburg United Methodist Church. All women are invited to take part.
The retreat will begin on Friday evening, Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. and will continue on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 8:30 a.m. through mid-afternoon. Three meals will be included for the suggested donation of $25. Please register for the Retreat by calling the Church office. There will be child care available if needed. Please let the church office know if you wish to take advantage of this.
This 4th Annual Women’s Winter Retreat will focus upon the theme of “God’s Grace” and will be led by Elizabeth “Butch” Baker from Morgantown. Butch recommends reading the book “Flunking Sainthood: A Year of Breaking the Sabbath, Forgetting to Pray, and Still Loving My Neighbor” written by Jana Riess prior to the Retreat. The book may be purchased from Amazon on Kindle or paperback. You may contact the Church office also to order.
Elizabeth “Butch” Baker is a full deacon in the United Methodist Church. She retired on July 1, 2013, from First United Methodist Church in Clarksburg where she had served for eight years as the Minister of Spiritual Formation and Lay Ministry Development. Before that, she served for six years as the assigned supply pastor to Brookhaven and Tyrone United Methodist Churches in Morgantown, and for six years before that as Director of College Ministry at Suncrest United Methodist Church in Morgantown. Butch received her call to ministry while she was working with the college ministry students, helping them to discern their own callings.
