New River Community and Technical College and Alderson Broaddus University signed an agreement this week making it easier for students who earn an associate degree to earn their bachelor’s degree.
“This is a very exciting time for New River CTC,” said Interim President Dr. Kathy Butler. “This agreement with Alderson Broaddus gives our students another option to continue their education and makes achieving their educational goals more attainable.”
Under the new agreement, New River CTC students who maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) are guaranteed admission to Alderson Broaddus. Students transferring must meet the same prerequisites, GPA and other admission criteria when applying to Alderson Broaddus programs. The two institutions will work collaboratively to admit students and facilitate the process of admissions.
“We’re delighted with this partnership,” Alderson Broaddus University President Dr. Tim Barry said. “AB’s focus is always on the student. Our goal in partnering with community and technical colleges is to streamline the pathway for students to graduate with a high-quality degree that prepares them to be well-rounded, responsible citizens ready for the workforce.”
The agreement becomes effective immediately.
