Southern Elite Gymnastics is excited to announce the hiring of Bob Abbott as both Director and Head Coach for their competitive team and recreational gymnastics program.

Abbott, a former Springfield College gymnast and graduate, has over 35 years of coaching experience in New England. His accomplishments include coaching multiple Regional and National competitors over the years, and he was the 1991 USA coach for an international competition in Cottbus, Germany. His most recent successes are with the University of Vermont Women’s Team and a boys’ team from Essex, Vermont.

With solid coaching and teaching staff already in place, Southern Elite will become one of the premier programs in West Virginia. The teaching curriculum will be expanding with more classes and levels offered. Open gym times and new weekend special events are also being scheduled. Southern Elite Gymnastics offers classes for different skill levels for boys and girls age 3-18.

Bob, along with the staff of Southern Elite Gymnastics will have a “meet and greet” on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 4-6 p.m. Open gym will be free of charge for all kids this day and fall signups will be available during this time. Southern Elite Gymnastics is located inside of Greenbrier Valley Fitness across from the hospital.
