Ronceverte – Mary Alice Weikle, 90, passed away Friday, Mar. 30, 2018, at The Brier Nursing Home in Ronceverte.

Mary was born Apr. 23, 1927, at Fort Spring, a daughter of the late Samuel and Emily Weikle.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Ronceverte, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a former member of Ronceverte Lions Club and retired as a cashier from Hecks Department Store. Mary enjoyed cooking and crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Fletcher Weikle, Sr. and a daughter, Mary Susan Williams.

She is survived by son, Howard Fletcher Weikle, Jr. of North Carolina; three grandsons, Howard F. Weikle, III and Michael Christopher Weikle, both of Ronceverte and Joshua Andrew Weikle of Morehead City, KY; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Ila; sister, Janice Wise of Alabama; and brother, Bill Burdette and wife, Juanita of North Carolina.

Her funeral service was held on Wednesday, Apr. 4, at Trinity United Methodist: Church in Ronceverte, where Pastor Dave Stilgenbauer officiated. Burial followed in Riverview Cemetery, Ronceverte.

Friends and family were received Tuesday evening, Apr. 3, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte.
