Virginia Carolyn Wood Pettit Arthur passed away Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, at the age of 75.
A short service will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg. Visitation for family will begin at 5 p.m. and all friends are welcome beginning at 6 p.m.
Virginia, or Jinky as she was known by many, was born in Christiansburg, VA, on Nov. 19, 1942, to parents James Herbert and Mina (Evelyn) Vest Wood. She graduated from Rupert High School in 1961 and worked as a banker for many years.
She was preceded in death by her first spouse, George (Tommy) T. Pettit.
She is survived by her husband, James K. Arthur; sister, Betty and Don Rutherford; daughter, Tracy Wood; son, James Pettit; granddaughter, Sydney Pettit; and many other loving relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Carolyn Krifchin, Virginia’s niece, for her support and care, as well as everyone’s prayers and well wishes during this difficult time. We will always treasure the fond memories of her, the time we were able to spend with her, and are very thankful to have had her in our lives.
