The Greenbrier East Wrestlers are finally back into the routine of going to school and training hard. Those are two things that are very important to them. Did you know that ALL 8 of our seniors are already making decisions about continuing their education next year. Many will continue to wrestle in college. WOW! As we stress everyday in the Wrestling room, “Be a Good Person first, then be a Good Wrestler!” It’s amazing what you can do with Good people who work hard. A quick example is Drew Bashlor and Austin Dilly, two senior wrestlers who have never wrestled in High School before this season. Drew is 20-6 and Austin is 19-0. Just as in life, Success is not by accident! PLEASE come out next Wednesday (1-17-18) to watch the Greenbrier County Championship at 7:00pm. We will also feature the Cheerleading Team. It will be billed “The Beauty and the Beast.” There will be some Great matches. See you there!

Upcoming events and highlights: This Friday and Saturday (Jan. 12/13) we will travel to the Fairmont Armory for the Winners Choice Tournament. This is considered one of the Top 5 toughest Tournaments in all of West Virginia. In some weight classes, it may be tougher than the State Tournament. Wednesday (1-17) GREENBRIER COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP at Greenbrier East High School (7 p.m.) Our Top 5 Pinners this season so far are Owen Quinn (15), Austin Dilly (12), Jacob Hefner (11), Leslie Campbell (10) and Aaron Davis (10).
E.G.M.S. UPDATE: The E.G.M.S. Wrestlers will be travelling to Fayetteville this Saturday for the Coalfield Conference Tournament. Good Luck, Knights!
Eastern Greenbrier Wrestling Club: The Wrestling Club went to Preston County and came home with six Wrestlers finishing in the Top 3 places. Congratulations to Will, James, Cy, Bella, Tucker, Luke and all the Coaches and parents. The future looks bright for the Spartans!

MILUK HUMOR: My wife came out our bedroom modeling a lovely garment. “Look at this!” She says. ‘’I’ve had it for 20 years and it still fits.” I replied, “It’s a scarf.” (My remarks get me in so much trouble.) Last week, she bought me some pajamas with pockets in them. “Which is Great.” I said. “Because before that, I used to have to hold stuff when I slept.” Ha!
