Old Greenbrier Baptist Church Choir and Friends
will present their annual Christmas Cantata Sunday, Dec. 17, at 3 p.m. at the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church in Alderson. The title is, “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” arranged by Russell Mauldin. On a quiet, calm night in Bethlehem, heaven’s light broke through the darkness with the birth of Christ. Shepherds and wise men joined a host of angels to rejoice in this divine arrival on earth. 2,000 years later, we reflect on how this single event in a humble stable would change the rest of history. It’s our joy and privilege to share the Christmas story through this musical. The cantata will be directed by Dell Wood and accompanied by Nancy Wood. The participating choir members are: Sopranos: Rose Carter, Charlotte Grimmett, Jo Honaker, Sylvia Keaton, Carolyn Jo Knapp, Cynthia Stacks; Altos: Cheryl Bice, Lea Ann Gwinn, Carolyn Holliday, Alice McCutcheon, Lynda Neff, Phyllis Wykle; Tenors: Joe Bradley, Pastor Bill Bryan, Gail Ball, Greg Holliday, Curtis Pauley, Raymond Rigsby, Brennan Wood; Basses: Darrell Croy, Jason Farmer, Bob Holliday, Justin Howell and Lawrence Lewis. The narrator for the Cantata is Pastor Bill Bryan. The soloists are Greg Holliday and Brennan Wood. We invite the public to attend this Christmas Cantata and worship with us through music.

Join Pastor Stewart Farley and Dave Beavers for an in-depth look and discussion about failure, something we all deal with. You’ll learn how to re-define failure by looking at it from God’s perspective. If failing has been hard for you to deal with in the past, join Pastor Stewart and Dave for this 13 week study and learn to not only redefine “your” failures, but learn how to use them as stepping stones toward the life God has planned for you! After this study, you’ll never be the same again, because you will never see yourself and what you do the same again. Don’t miss it.
