The Women of the Henning Church of God along with guests met in the church fellowship hall for their Christmas celebration and dinner on Dec. 5. Sam Zicafoose sang, “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas.”
Carole Spencer, president, opened the meeting and August Hefner led in prayer. Dyan Hefner, spiritual life direction, gave the devotion, “The Real Meaning of Christmas,” with scripture reference from Luke 2:14-19. Many people think the real meaning of Christmas is gifts under the tree, cards, stockings and Santa Claus. However, this time of year is a time of love, healing and celebration of Christ’s birth even if someone had experienced sorrow at this time of year. Christmas is a great event. God sent His one and only son to die for us so we could be saved. We can be truly happy at Christmas because we know we are His children and can look to God for all our needs to be met.
All reports were dismissed.
