Mary Jo Thompson (left) and Jeri B. Via were co-hostesses for the Wednesday, June 28, meeting of the Lewisburg House and Garden Club. The club toured Via’s garden following the business meeting and light refreshments.

Recently, Lewisburg House and Garden Club President Suzanne Perilli Hancock presided over the club’s business meeting, and asked for volunteers for the nominating committee for first vice president and secretary for two years beginning in 2018.

Mary Lindquist volunteered as chairman, and Margaret Schleiff and Townley Hamilton will serve with her on the committee. The club voted to plant and care for flowers and vines on a rock wall at Carnegie Hall.

Jeri Via presented a program on home health care, explaining the procedure of orders through physicians, post surgeons, Medicare, Medicaid, visitation for home care, medications and Meals on Wheels program delivery at home. Via is director of nursing for Home Care Plus.

The next meeting will be at Schleiff’s home in Renick at 12 noon where she will share her garden vegetables for an enjoyable lunch before they motor on to Barry Glick’s Sunshine Farm and garden for another interesting experience with plants.

Members present were: Polley Cunningham, Judy Deegans, Dee Dotson, Rebecca Gaujot, Feona Gore, Townley Hamilton, Suzanne Perilli Hancock, Sharon Holladay, Mary Linquist, Britt Ludwig, Karen McClung, Sue McKinney, Joan Montgomery, Dee Myers, Margaret Schleiff, Mary Jo Thompson, Barbara Tuckwiller, Jeri Via, Pat Wingo and guests Jan DeHaven and Suzanne Creonquist.
