Gloria Lawrence (center), head of the Massage Therapy program at the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Rockbridge Regional Center in Buena Vista, recently earned the designation of Advanced Board Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork from the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). Making the presentation was Donna Sarvello, vice president of education for the NCBTMB. Looking on is Joe Walker, the director of the DSLCC Rockbridge Center. The certification Lawrence received required advanced education in the field of massage therapy, and evidence of practical experience together with a Baccalaureate degree. It is the highest board certification in the massage therapy profession.
