There will be a free seed swap Saturday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. – 12 noon to kick off the Winter Farmers Market at the Gus R. Douglass Building at the State Fairgrounds. Veterans Day Dinner
American Legion Post 69 will celebrate Veterans Day with their annual Veterans Day Dinner Saturday, Nov. 5, at 6:30 p.m. at Emory Sweet Memorial Hall, 816 South Jefferson Street, Lewisburg. The post will provide chicken, ham, rolls and drinks. All Legion members, Auxiliary members and guests are asked to bring a covered dish and join in the celebration. Shooting Match in Williamsburg
will be held at the Williamsburg Community building Saturday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. The match is eight rounds. 12 gauge guns only, seven rounds at $2 per shot, eighth round 50/50 at $5 per shot. Shooters must compete in all initial seven rounds to qualify for round eight, 50/50 splatter match is $1 per chance between rounds. Cash prizes will be awarded. Food and refreshments will be available. Proceeds will benefit Williamsburg community service projects. Sponsored by the Williamsburg Ruritan Club and Williamsburg Community Action.
Veteran’s Dinner in Renick
The Renick Stickers 4-H Club will hold their annual Veteran’s Dinner Friday, Nov. 11, at 12 noon at Mount Hermon United Methodist Church in Renick. Members of the Renick Stickers 4-H Club will be serving food and providing entertainment for the luncheon. If you are not a local veteran, but you would like to contribute or join them, please bring a covered dish and join them for a great afternoon. Sponsored by Satellite Club of Committee on Aging and local VFW.
Lewisburg City Hall
will be closed Friday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veteran’s Day. Recycling pickup schedule will be as follows: Monday customers – pickup on Monday, Nov. 7; Tuesday customers – pickup on Tuesday, Nov. 8; Wednesday customers – pickup on Wednesday, Nov. 9; Thursday and Friday customers – pickup on Thursday, Nov. 10. Greenbrier Valley Solid Waste will operate on their normal schedule, picking up regular trash Monday through Friday.
Mountain Transit Authority

Flying Falcons Soup Luncheon
Come share in variety of homemade soups and peanut butter or grilled cheese sandwich, choose from a variety of homemade desserts and a drink with the Williamsburg Flying Falcons 4-H group Sunday, Nov. 13. The lunch will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Williamsburg Community Building. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.
