Bozoo Ruritan Club hosted a Ham and Bean Supper on Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Bozoo Ruritan Community Building. Members of the community were invited to come out and meet the candidates running for office at both the local and state level. Most of the candidates on the ballot were in attendance. The candidates shared their vision for Monroe County, the district and the state. They also had some very thought provoking comments from our community members.
Not to editorialize, but it’s easy to get focused on the National Elections and minimize the importance of our local and state elections. We all need to realize that our local and state elections are where we start to make a difference in Washington. We encourage everyone to get to know these local candidates at one of these informal dinners. And most importantly – get out and vote on Nov. 8.
