Main Street White Sulphur Springs has announced that the date for the fourth edition of the Wild Game Cook-off will be Oct. 1. The 2016 Wild Game Cook-off will be held in Butler Hall at St. Thomas Episcopal Church at 3 p.m. in White Sulphur Springs.
The Wild Game Cook-off is a fundraiser for White Sulphur Springs Main Street that invites local restaurants and caterers to come compete with their best recipes consisting of wild game or locally grown/harvested ingredients. Last year, they had a great turnout with some amazing recipes, and they are now accepting participant registration for this year’s event.
A new addition to this year’s cook-off will be an Appalachian market, featuring local and regional vendors and their best locally-made products, and a regional beer garden. Organizers are currently accepting vendor applications from local vendors, brewers and home-brewers. To register, or for more information, email wsswildgamecookoff@gmail.com, call 304-661-3778, or send a Facebook message to WSS Wild Game Cook-off.
The afternoon will also feature live music from BlackKingCoal’s Allan Sizemore.
Raising funds for flood relief for businesses in White Sulphur Springs is Main Street’s primary goal of this year’s cook-off. Main Street will be selling event T-shirts, with proceeds going towards helping White Sulphur Springs’ businesses through maintenance, finishing construction work and marketing support.
