In the 2016-2017 budget, Lewisburg City Council set aside up to $50,000 in grant funds for local nonprofit arts and humanities organizations to be used for a variety of purposes. Details are available online at Lewisburg-wv.com.
Applications are reviewed by the City Finance Committee as they are received. Applications must be submitted by the Thursday before finance committee meetings (second Tuesday night of each month). The budget allocation comes from the local hotel and motel tax.
“Part of what makes Lewisburg a special community is the variety of non-profit arts and humanities organizations and their efforts to bring high quality programs including fairs and festivals to our community. Setting aside this amount of money in our budget this year will help local groups better meet their mission and make our community more sustainable,” stated Mayor John Manchester.
