North Hills, CA-William James “Bill” Pettit died Thursday, July 14, 2016.
Born in White Sulphur Springs on Dec. 22, 1928, he was a son of the late Margaret Gillespie and Martin Bernard Pettit of Calais, ME.
Bill was retired from the F.B.I. as a special agent in Los Angeles, CA, and was in the Korean Conflict.
Preceding him in death, other than his parents, were his loving wife, Bernice Loris; sister, Margaret Elizabeth Chappell of Sumter, NC; and brother, George Thomas Pettit of White Sulphur Springs.
Survivors include his daughters, Carla Toms (Sean Enton) of Chico, CA and Kathleen Gutierrez and daughter Gabrielle of Portland, OR; brother, John Bernard (Cecilia) of Silver Springs, MD; sisters, Mary Patricia Preil (Bob) of Ft. Washington, MD and Jean Ann Haranzo (Frank) of Roanoke, VA; and sister-in-law, Virginia Arthur of White Sulphur Springs.
The body was cremated and there was no visitation or service.
