White Sulphur Springs-William Maxwell Cox, 74, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 10, 1941, at Elkins, a son of the late George “Max” and Mildred Mae Yeager Cox.
Mr. Cox was a member and former Deacon at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in White Sulphur Springs and was a retired maintenance worker for Westvaco and a member of Local #675 CPU Covington Paperworkers Unit.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Grace Ervin Cox; daughter, Gina Cavender and husband Jim of Georgetown, KY; son, Michael Cox and wife Karen of St. Augustine, FL; six grandchildren, Jenifer Cavender, Nicholas Cavender, Makenzie Cox, Alexandra Cox, Shannon Collins and Steven Wright; sister, Janet S. Varner and husband Jacky Varner, Sr.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Monday, July 4, at Arbovale Cemetery, where Pastor David Rittenhouse officiated.
Friends called Sunday evening, July 3, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
