Dabney S. Lancaster Community College will offer two “History of World Civilization” courses this summer. Students may enroll in one or both five-week sessions. “History of World Civilization I” (HIS 111) will begin on May 31 and end on July 1. “History of World Civilization II” (HIS 112) will begin July 5 and end on Aug. 5. Classes will meet Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9-11 a.m.
Each course carries three credits and the instructor for both courses will be Tobias Philbin. The courses provide a survey of Asian, African, Latin American, and European civilizations from the ancient period to the present.
These courses provide an opportunity to fulfill social science requirements for programs of study at DSLCC. Students who wish to transfer credits to other colleges or universities will need to have prior approval from their academic advisor before registering.
