At a ceremony last week in Washington, DC, Falcon Analytical, a high-tech Lewisburg manufacturing company, was presented the President’s “E” Award for exports by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker. The president’s “E” Award is the highest recognition any U.S. entity can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports.
Falcon’s primary product is a patented gas chromatograph analyzer, branded the “CALIDUS” GC. The company has sold CALIDUS GC systems to users in 15 foreign nations through 22 sales representatives located around the globe.
Falcon’s CALIDUS GC performs 10 to 50 times faster than traditional GCs and is a fraction of the size of the previous technologies. It is rugged, light weight and can be deployed fixed-base for process applications or transported for mobile use.
Falcon’s export destinations have included Albania, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Norway, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and the UK. In the UK alone 49 CALIDUS GCs have been deployed in mobile labs to perform fuel fraud analysis and help officials detect illegal fuel sales.
U.S. companies are nominated for the “E” Awards through the Department of Commerce’s U.S. Commercial Service office network, located within the Department’s International Trade Administration. Successive years of export growth and an applicant’s demonstration of an innovative international marketing plan that led to the increase in exports are significant factors in selecting the winners.
