Jean Foley was hostess to 11 members of the Progressive CEOS when they met for their May meeting. Co-President Kitty Loudermilk opened the meeting by welcoming everyone and reading one of her favorite poems by R. L. Sharp. Dot Feamster gave the meditations which focused on Mother’s Day and then read an article that her cousin had written about her mother.
The club voted to give a $25 donation to the 4-H Camp. The treasurer reported she had sent a donation to the Food Locker.
Patty Gray showed several quit tops she had put together and are ready for backing and filling and then to be tied. These are for the Quilts for Kids Project. We will set a date later to finish them.
Mary Liz Richmond brought the friendship quilt back and it was passed to Betty Jo McNeel who will enjoy it for a year and then bring it back to be handed to another club member.
We were reminded of the Beckley area meeting which Patty Gray will attend. Achievement Day will be May 24. Betty Jo McNeel will lead the flag salute. Patty Gray brought the traveling basket and Linda Schmidt took it and she will bring it back next month filled with goodies.
Our next meeting will be our Bear Town tour with lunch at Hillsboro. We will meet at 11 a.m. at the Post Office parking lot and carpool.
In July, we will have a picnic at Harts Run.
