Organ Cave-Cinda Bell Howard, 96, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, surrounded by family at Genesis Health Center in White Sulphur Springs.
Born Oct. 10, 1917, at Red Sulphur Springs, she was a daughter of the late Jessie and Lucinda Long Helvey.
Cinda’s accomplishments include 21 years of service for Appalachian Electronics, she was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church and she enjoyed quilting and flowers.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Homer Howard; son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Bonnie Howard; granddaughter, Kathy Howard; great-grandson, Lane Howard; son-in-law, Howard Burns; two full brothers, Leonard and Woodrow Helvey; three full sisters, Gret, Maggie and Ruby; four half-brothers, Frank, Wade, Fred and Clayton; and three half-sisters, Ruth, Gladys and Nellie.
She is survived by: daughter, Wanda Burns of Organ Cave; son, Joseph Howard of Ronceverte; half-brothers, Virgil (Lorraine) Helvey of Hollywood and Dave Helvey of Wenatehee, WA; two sisters-in-law, Betty and Connie Helvey; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Monday, Oct. 28 at Salem Presbyterian Church at Organ Cave, with Rev. Jonathan Hunt officiating.
Burial will follow in the Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of the service at the church on Monday.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
