The 33rd annual Art & Craft Show, sponsored by Edgewood Presbyterian Church, will be held in the West Virginia Building at the State Fair Event Center in Fairlea. The show will be held on Oct. 11 and Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Oct. 13 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Door prizes will be given away throughout the three-day event, parking is free, and a food court will be available for eat in or take out.
This event will bring together artisans not only from the local community, but from other locations around West Virginia and beyond, to showcase their handcrafted merchandise. With a sold out vendor arena, a waiting list of interested merchants, more than two dozen new artisans, and a live broadcast by WRON Radio scheduled, the event will begin the shopping season for locals, as well as those from beyond the borders of the town, the county, and the state.
Wreaths, trees, and swags will be featured by various merchants. The woodworking genre will include items such as furniture, clocks, toys and kitchen utensils. Artisans with hand and wheel-thrown pottery, as well as ceramics, will be on site. Candles, tarts and sachets will make the room smell warm and wonderful. Fabric items such as handbags, clothing, quilts and placemats
will make great gifts for those on your Christmas list. Natural and herbal soaps, along with body butters and beauty items, will also be featured. Various merchants will showcase a variety of jewelry, from beads to glass to wire, and sterling silver. Merchandise made from recycled materials such as old records, bottle caps and antiques will be showcased. Crochet and knitted items such as scarves, shawls and gift items will be available. Apple butter, made over an open flame, will be offered as well as homemade sweets and treats. Other merchandise includes matted and framed photography, hand-stamped cards, hand-painted ornaments and much, much, more.
In lieu of an admission fee, shoppers are encouraged to participate in an optional admission monetary donation or non-perishable food item to benefit the Lewisburg-Fairlea Food Locker. The food locker is a nonprofit charitable organization based at Old Stone Presbyterian Church in Lewisburg. With help and donations from citizens and organizations, the food locker is able to provide food assistance to individuals and families in the local community.
Proceeds from the Art and Craft show will benefit the Lewisburg-Fairlea Food Locker, the Edgewood Presbyterian Church Scholarship Fund and the Edgewood Growth & Improvement Fund.
