Greenbrier Valley Theatre (GVT), the State Professional Theatre of West Virginia, is proud to present Kermit’s Kabaret: An Evening of Music and Laughter on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Daywood Lobby of Greenbrier Valley Theatre. Tickets are $15. Seating is limited. Reservations are highly recommended. For more information, call the GVT Box Office at 304-645-3838 or visit www.gvtheatre.org.

This popular musical extravaganza returns for a night full of fun! Starring Kermit Medsker as Master of Ceremonies, the evening will feature show tunes taken from contemporary and standard musical theatre repertoire, performed by GVT’s professional guest actors.

Presented in the form of a musical revue, Kermit’s Kabaret has become one of GVT’s most popular events, looked forward to by many GVT regulars. The evening will last approximately one hour and 45 minutes, with one 15-minute intermission.

“What good is sitting alone in your room? Come to the Kabaret,” said Medsker, quoting the title song of popular Kander and Ebb musical Cabaret.

Medsker is the resident music director at Greenbrier Valley Theatre. His first production as resident music director was Pirates of Penzance 22 years ago when GVT produced shows in a barn out by Greenbrier Valley Airport. His other musical credits include Man of La Mancha, Stand By Your Man: The Tammy Wynette Story and Chicago. Before returning to Lewisburg last July, he served as music director for Into the Woods at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN and Sister Myotis’ End Times Hootenanny at TheatreWorks in Memphis.

Located in beautiful, historic downtown Lewisburg, “America’s Coolest Small Town,” Greenbrier Valley Theatre, The State Professional Theatre of West Virginia, is committed to its mission statement to create live, professional quality theatre in West Virginia and, through theatre, to enlighten, enrich, and enliven the life of our region.

Throughout each year, GVT produces first-class theatrical productions featuring professional actors. Additionally, Greenbrier Valley Theatre offers a successful after-school drama program, a summer camp for children and teens, literary readings, live simulcasts of the Metropolitan Opera, special events and musical performances, art appreciation activities, lectures, discussions and workshops.
