The Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center, Washington Street, Lewisburg, hosts Homer Laughlin China Company: West Virginia’s Gift to the World now until Sept. 26. The exhibition showcases the West Virginia State Museum’s collection of Homer Laughlin products.
The Homer Laughlin China Company is located in Newell, WV and is most recognized as the creator of Fiestaware. The popular tableware is desired for its bright hues such as peacock, sunflower, lapis and lemongrass.
In addition to its Fiesta line the Homer Laughlin China Company has created commemorative specialty pieces for exhibitions, presentations and special events. The most recent is a Fiestaware Pitcher, created for the National Governors Association Summer Meeting, which was held this July in White Sulphur Springs.
The display also highlights the diversity of patterns and shapes that make the company an internationally recognized leader in its industry. Most notably, The Greenbrier’s iconic green and pink main dining room china is a highlight of the display.
The Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center is honored to have this display and invites everyone in the community to come see the display. The Visitors Center is open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
