For the 2015-2016 Trillium School for the Arts season, Trillium presents “Arrive for Five!” This unique new programming features a variety of artistic classes for tweens, teens, and adults! The school season includes a total of seven sessions – five weeks each, which are dedicated to different forms of artistic expression.
The 2015-2016 season will feature classes such as; creative processes of dance using mediums such as art, poems, and music; Yoga for Tweens and Teens; Modern Dance Technique, Fusion Movement-ology; Hip Hop; Poi (Fire Dancing); Intro to Short Film-making; Intro to Acting; Creative Fiction/Nonfiction Writing; and Reading Your Work – a class designed to prepare authors for spoken presentations! All of the 2015-2016 instructors have had extensive experience and training, and they each bring a fresh approach to their respective craft.
Each class meets at the Lewis Theatre, once a week, during their scheduled session. Certain classes also have the opportunity to perform at Alive! @ The Lewis (formerly known as Friday Night Alive!) which will now take place on Sundays at 7 p.m.
Classes are $50 for each five-week session, plus a onetime $10 annual fee. That’s a total of $60 to try something new, strengthen your craft and technique, or to develop a new passion and excitement for the arts!
Also, Trillium offers a year-long Creative Movement Class for children age 3-4 and 5-6 on Wednesday. The class is taught by Kristen McMillion, a pediatric physical therapist, and takes place at the dance studio at Carnegie Hall.
