New River Community and Technical College’s Greenbrier Valley Campus will host a Basic Upholstery community education class on Thursday evenings, starting on Sept. 3.
During a series of five classes, students will learn the tools, materials, and processes of basic upholstery. Students are encouraged to bring a project to the class. The instructor will devote individual attention to those enrolled, advising on progress throughout the course.
The class will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays from Sept. 3 through Oct. 1 at New River CTC’s Lee Street Complex, Building D, in Lewisburg. The cost is $150. The instructor is Marsha Griffith.
Griffith has years of experience in custom interior design and furniture design. She has altered wedding dresses, designed and fabricated tour buses, auto interiors, floats, and parade costumes.
