Absurdity of biblical proportions – GVT presents ‘The Skin of Our Teeth’

Greenbrier Valley Theatre (GVT) is delighted to continue its run of Thornton Wilder’s singular comedy “The Skin of Our Teeth,” Apr. 16-18 and 23-25 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $27 for general admission, $24 for seniors and $20 for children/students. For tickets or more information, call the GVT Box Office at 304-645-3838 or visit www.gvtheatre.org.

From the author of “Our Town” comes the Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy “The Skin of Our Teeth” – the story of the Antrobus family and how they survive, time and time again. They may seem like an ordinary family, but George and Maggie Antrobus have been married for centuries and have survived more than a few catastrophes. Along with their children and their maid, they can make it through everything, even if it is just by the skin of their teeth.

“We have all enjoyed the opportunity to work on this wonderful play. To tell its story, “The Skin of Our Teeth” breaks with all of the theatrical conventions of its time. It’s funny and touching, absurd and thoughtful, and it’s challenging for all of us – the cast, the designers and the director,” Cathey Sawyer, director and GVT’s producing artistic director said.
