Dwain C. Swann
Huntington-Dwain C. Swann 65, formerly of Lewisburg, went home to be with God Tuesday, Mar. 3, 2015.
Born May 14, 1949, in White Sulphur Springs, he is the son of Edna S. Brown of Lewisburg and the late James N. Swann, III
He was a graduate of Greenbrier East High School and attended Marshall University. He served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.
Dwain was an avid fisherman, expert billiards player and loved riding his motorcycle. He was an extraordinary loving son, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His laughter and smile were his trademark for the love he had for his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James N. Swann, III; step-father, Robert Brown and brother, Michael Swann.
He is survived by: his mother, Edna S. Brown of Lewisburg; two daughters, Nikki “Ladybug” Swann of Huntington and Cammie Jackson of Miami, FL; two brothers, James Swann, IV of Roanoke, VA and Rick “Sam” Brown (Zina) of Lowmoor, VA; two sisters, Rhonda Gordon of Charlotte, NC and Dot Swann of Lewisburg; a special stepson, Bruce “Boo” France of Huntington; five grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; and special friend, Larry Baxter.
Funeral services were held Monday, Mar. 9, at John Wesley United Methodist Church where Pastors Greg Scott and Michael Adedokun officiated. Burial followed in Rosewood Cemetery.
Friends called Sunday evening, Mar. 8, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
