Edward Neal Riffe, 60, of Alderson passed away on Tuesday, Apr. 7, 2026, at his residence from a sudden illness. He was born on June 16, 1965, in Logan, WV to the late Patrick William and Patsy Ruth (Jarrell) Riffe.

Neal enjoyed the every day challenges of working on the Lazy L farm in Alderson over the past 12 years. Throughout those years he put wood on the fire and fed animals in all extremes of weather multiple times a day. He worked at Capitol Movie Theater as a projectionist in Logan and he was proud of the work he did at Electric Motor Service making and rebuilding motors. Neal also worked for Factory Tire and really thought a lot of Patsy and Darrell.

Photography was one of his favorite hobbies. He prioritized keeping in touch with friends and spending time with family. Neal had a kind heart and huge sense of humor. He made everyone laugh. Neal will be missed by many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Ruby Loudermilk and Chloe Cecchini, and his son Alex. Neal was heartbroken over the passing of Bill Lightner.

Those left to cherish his memories are his brother Mark Riffe of Dingess; sister Debra Ambler of Rupert; grandchildren Camron, Laney, Ryan, Amelia, Zaylynn, and Draven; nieces Phylicia, Kathy, Jodi; nephews Astyn, Cooper, Royce; and several other nieces and nephews.

Neal wanted Betty Lightner, Elizabeth, Brayden, Peyton, Bailey Copenhaver, Pam, William, and Emma Lightner to know how much he appreciated them caring for him during his time on the farm.

In keeping with his wishes, Neal will be cremated.

The staff and directors of Alderson Funeral Services and Smathers Funeral Chapel are saddened to lose our friend Neal. Online condolences may be made at www.smathersfuneralchapelinc.com
