Dorothy Alma “Tiny” Osborne, 87, of Rainelle went to her heavenly home on Monday, Apr. 6, 2026. Born Mar. 11, 1939, in Artie, WV to the late Vincent Pozzie and Myrtle (Tredway) Pozzie.

Dorothy was employed for 36 years at Thelma’s Restaurant in Rainelle where her customers were family to her. She retired at the age of 71.

Dorothy enjoyed her family and friends, working on a good puzzle, acting up with a good joke or prank, being silly for a laugh, dressing up, fishing (always thinking about the one that got away and “she wasn’t talking about a fish” as she would say for a laugh), ramp digging and ginsenging.

Dorothy loved people without judgment or bitterness towards anyone. She would help anyone she could without “announcing” her contribution’s or helping. Dorothy was a giving person, never asking or wanting anything in return.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children Lester (Cindy) Osborne of Meadow Bridge, WV, Larry (Sandy) Osborne of Meadow Bridge, Wanda Osborne (Michael Hughes) of Ranson, WV; sisters Mary Wenthworth of Rainelle, Neva (Roger) Shaver of Rupert; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Earnest Lester Osborne, Sr., son Jeff Osborne, daughter Tina Osborne, brothers Roger Pozzie, Ridgmond “Ridg” Pozzie, Randy Pozzie, sister Freda Taylor, and grandson J.J. Rhodes.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Apr. 10, at 1 p.m. at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle. With pastor Joseph Terry officiating. Visitation for friends and neighbors will be from 12 noon until the time of the service. Interment will follow in the Puckett Cemetery, Crag, WV.

The staff and directors of Smathers Funeral Chapel are honored to have been entrusted to care for Tiny and her family during their great time of need. Online condolences may be made at www.smathersfuneralchapelinc.com
