Trish Tuckwiller, textile/mixed media artist, is scheduled to exhibit a solo art show in the Old Stone Room Gallery at Carnegie Hall. The show, entitled “West Virginia Inspirations,” is compiled of current work including several never-before seen pieces that will make their debut at the show’s opening on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023 at a reception that will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the Old Stone Room Gallery.
Tuckwiller is a contemporary textile/mixed media and acrylic artist that is primarily self-taught with skill influences from West Virginia artist John Telisko, Oklahoma artist Rose Dobbins, and Virginia quilter Jinny Beyer. Tuckwiller confidently works in abstract, semi-abstract and realism, relishing the challenge to master all three with a uniquely creative perspective. She is inspired by the beauty of the West Virginia landscape and the many creatures that inhabit it.
Tuckwiller has created since she was a small child, learning basic textile skills from her mother and other skilled sewists. She has over 40 years of experience with textiles and is a well known local/regional quilter with private commissions.
In 2016, she successfully transitioned from quilter to textile/mixed media artist; in 2017 she co-owned WV Fine Artisans, an art gallery in Lewisburg until the gallery closed when the pandemic struck in 2020.
Tuckwiller currently shows her artwork through private shows at The Greenbrier Resort and sells her art via her website – www.trishtuckwillerart.com. Her art can also be seen on Facebook.com/Trish Tuckwiller Art and on Instagram @Trish Tuckwiller Art. She is a member of Greenbrier Artist Guild and her work was featured in the Greenbrier Valley Quarterly in 2022.
Tuckwiller has been commissioned by private individuals and her work can be found private collections across the United States.
