Last week, White Sulphur Springs Elementary School celebrated National School Breakfast Week. School Wellness Champion and music teacher Sarah Hann coordinated several fun activities for students to look forward to each morning during breakfast time including: breakfast trivia, designing the perfect breakfast, a read aloud of Lady Pancake and Sir French toast.
The biggest hit of all was Monday’s activity, The Smoothie Slurp, with help from Elizabeth Reynolds from the WV Extension Office. Each student was given the opportunity to try two flavors of breakfast smoothies, “Purple Cow” and “Fla-Mango” and vote for their favorite. “Purple Cow” was the winner and students are looking forward to it being added to our school breakfast menu in the future.
