The City of White Sulphur Springs has announced the list of citizens who have filed to run as candidates for city office in the June 2025 city election. This list is presented by office and names are listed alphabetically.
Candidates for Mayor are Kathy Glover, George McIntire, and Thomas Taylor. The singular candidate for Recorder is David Dillon. There are six candidates running for five City Council positions: Jennifer Andrews, Linda Coleman, Ryan Lockhart, Mary Jane “MJ” Oref, G.P. Parker, and Audrey VanBuren.
A public ballot name placement drawing was held on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at City Hall. The deadline for any candidate to withdraw from the ballot for the June election is Tuesday, Mar 18.
Citizens may file as a write-in candidate for city office for the June election. Write-in candidates are required to file a certificate of announcement with the Recorder through City Hall at least 49 days before the general election to have votes for them counted (Tuesday, Apr. 22). Write-in candidates are also required to file campaign financial statements. Only votes for certified write-in candidates are to be counted.
Election for city offices of the City White Sulphur Springs will be on Tuesday, Jun. 10, 2025.
Candidates for other municipal elections including Lewisburg, Ronceverte, and Alderson will be made available in upcoming weeks.
