There is still time to register for Summer Drama Camp at Greenbrier Valley Theatre. Camp runs Monday, July 21 – Sunday Aug. 3. Summer Camp is offered to children age 5-14. A performance on Aug. 3 will showcase the skills students learned over the course of the two weeks.
Students in GVT’s Summer Drama Camp experience intensive study in theatre arts. Campers will have a fun-filled two weeks exploring: creative dramatics, acting, scene study, voice and movement, acting for the camera, theatre arts & crafts, creative writing, storytelling, and technical theatre. Camp culminates in a showcase written, developed, and produced by the students.
“I was a camper for four years, and I’ve been a teaching assistant for two years now! GVT’s summer camp is always one of my favorite parts of summer,” Lindsey Feamster said. Feamster has been involved GVT’s Youth Education program for six years.
Campers age 5-8 attend for half-days from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at a cost of $285. Older campers spend whole days, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the theatre for $385. Need-based scholarships are available. Registration deadline for the Summer Drama Camp is July 16. Space is limited.
