The regular monthly meeting of the Williamsburg CEOS was held on Sept. 8 at the Williamsburg Historical Museum. Members present were C K Perkins, Virginia Hanna, Dorothy Hayes. Blanche Knicely, Loretta Shirley, Linda Spencer, Laura Rose and Barbara Deeds. They reported 178 volunteer hours, 173 motivational hours and 22 books read. The meeting began with devotions, “Time is a Gift” by Virginia Hanna. The scripture cited was Ecclesiastes 1:3. Dorothy Hayes said a prayer and asked a blessing for the carry-in lunch.
Plans were made for attending the County CEOS Fall Leadership Day on Sept. 14. It was decided Blanche Knicely would take a breakfast item, Virginia Hanna a lunch salad and Loretta Shirley and Barbara Deeds would take door prizes. Greeting cards were signed for various friends and neighbors. Dorothy Hayes gave the treasurer’s report. Lesson for the month was “Healthy Body, Healthy Brain” presented by C K Perkins. There was much discussion on ways to keep the brain active and functioning well. Keeping mentally and physically fit plays a very important part in living well.
