The Williamsburg CEOS met Feb. 10, at the home of Dorothy Hayes. Members present were Cassandria Perkins, Blanche Knicely, Virginia Hanna, Dorothy Hayes, Loretta Shirley, Linda Spencer and Barbara Deeds. Guests present were Laura Rose, Inez McMillon and Laura Sevy. Members reported a total of 149 volunteer hours, 108 motivated hours and 22 books read.
There was a lot of sharing of all the work done and fun that was had during the past month.
Cassandria brought 21 pillows that she had sewn for the “Heart” project and Loretta Shirley took them to stuff.
Virginia Hanna gave a devotion titled “Love people, not things.”
The club voted to make a donation of money to the PTO Scholarship Fund in memory of Ruth Kreft. They signed a sympathy card to be sent to her brother.
The lesson for this month, “Bread-Tastic,” was presented by Cassandria Perkins. It gave some history on bread-making in our and other cultures. There was discussion among the members about the kinds of bread they bake.
Donations of nonperishable foods were collected for a local food pantry.
A covered-dish lunch was enjoyed after the business meeting with a blessing asked by Dorothy Hayes.
