The Williamsburg Community Educational Outreach Club (CEOS) met on Apr. 9 at the home of Loretta Shirley and shared a wealth of knowledge concerning how to help others in a crisis situation as Burl Post shared information from the West Virginia University Extension Service CEOS lesson titled “Preventing Suicide in our WV Communities.”
Members participating included Loretta Shirley, Linda Spencer, Cassandria Perkins, Blanche Knicely, Laura Ann Tiller, Patty Post, and guest Lisa Miller-Piche.
The club will meet at the Williamsburg Historical Museum at noon on May 14 with Cassandria Perkins presenting the lesson “Home Grown: Appalachian Crafts from the Past.” This lesson explores Appalachian craft history and ways individuals can preserve and teach the next generation. Members will be making a “craft” that will share a skill that they can teach others too.
We are building and growing families and our communities by sharing our skills and experiences and learning new skills from the WVU extension service and each other. All are welcome and encouraged to participate.
