White Sulphur Springs-Warren Albert Reed, 86, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at the White Sulphur Springs Family Care Center after and extended illness.
Born July 2, 1927, he was a son of the late Earl and Lenna Riffle Reed.
Mr. Reed was of the Baptist faith and a US World War II Army Veteran. During his working years, he was a dragline operator in the coal mining industry. He enjoyed feeding squirrels and watching old western movies.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters; Genevieve Miller, Estil, Edgar, Unus and Earlene.
Survivors include: two daughters, Pamela Hinkle (Keith) and Patricia Mines (Don) both of White Sulphur Springs; five grandchildren, six great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.
His funeral service will be conducted on Saturday morning, June 14 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home with Rev. Lewis Brooks officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, Lewisburg.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening, June 13 at the funeral home.
