Lewisburg- Waldo Darrell Christian, 88, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Christian was born Oct. 26, 1925, at Norton, Randolph County, WV. He was the son of the late Alonzo Harper Christian and Hazel Marie Foy Christian.
Mr. Christian was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion, the National Rifle Association and had worked as a carrier for City National Bank.
Preceding him in death were his sister, Kathleen Boone; brother, Norman Gene Christian; and grandchildren, Kimberly Welch and Nathan Christian.
Survivors include: his wife, Doris Steerman Christian; daughters, Shirley Ann Christian of Lewisburg and Linda (Tim) Welch of Ohio: son, David (Mary) Christian of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Daniel Christian, Tabitha (Kevin) Monroe, Amy Christian and Katie Welch; sisters, Juanita Blevins, Virginia Miller (Bill), Betty Linkenhoker (Jimmy), Patsy Wingo and Charlotte Grimmett; and brother, Darius Christian (Carol).
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 23 at 1 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with the family officiating.
The family will receive their family and friends from 12 noon until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests no flowers, but memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
