Ronceverte-Virginia Lee Hinkle Terry Thompson, 93, passed away Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.
She was born Mar. 25, 1921, in Greenbrier County, a daughter of the late William Edward Hinkle and Rebecca Virginia Hayes Hinkle.
Virginia was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ronceverte Christian Church and was a member of the Red Hat Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Thompson, Jr. on Feb. 7, 2001; son, Montie Terry; step-daughter, Gertrude Nelson; sisters, Ethel Falls, Emma Moody Betty Bonnell and Maddie Hinkle; and brother, Estill Hinkle.
She is survived by: two daughters, Tammy (Rob) Turner of Ronceverte and Patricia (Mike) Griffith of Troy, OH; two step-sons, Grover (Emily) Thompson of Ronceverte and Billy (Carolyn) Thompson of Lenoir. NC; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Oct. 23 at the Ronceverte Christian Church on Gypsy Heights Road where Pastor Jonathan Thomas officiated.
Burial was in Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville.
Visitation was Thursday, Oct. 23 at the Ronceverte Christian Church before the service.
Family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy be made to Ronceverte Christian Church Building Fund, 240 Gypsy Heights Road, Ronceverte, WV 24970.
