Clintonville-Viola “Via” Marie Wamsley, 78, entered into her eternal home with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 5, 2022, following a short illness.
Born June 15, 1944, in Wide Mouth, WV, she was the daughter of the late Basil Perdue and Edna Williams.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Jackson, and brothers-in-law, Paul Jackson and Harry “Skeets” Feury.
Via was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her family as she devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. It was well known to all the neighborhood kids that her homemade mashed potatoes, gravy, and fried chicken were the best.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of almost 62 years, Thurmond Wamsley of Clintonville; children, Karen Hughart (Lyndon) of Clintonville, Sharon Wamsley of Renick, and Samuel Wamsley (Mindy) of Asbury; grandchildren, AJ Wamsley (Kendra), Dirk Hughart, Marie Wamsley (Pedie), Wesley Hughart, and Hunter Wamsley; great-grandchildren, Leeland, Cannon, Remington, and Jackson; sisters, Joyce Feury, and Rena Perdue; brothers, Ricky Perdue and Chester Perdue; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifetime friends.
As per her wishes, Via will be cremated and a private service by the family will be held at a later date.
Wallace & Wallace of Lewisburg are in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, WV.
