UPS in Caldwell was first company in the area to kick off the 2014 campaign for United Way of the Greenbrier Valley. This year, area employees raised nearly $22,000 for the annual fundraising campaign. “With one hundred percent employee participation and the largest annual company gift, UPS is one of our most valued partners” says Sarah Umberger, president of United Way of the Greenbrier Valley.
Over the years, a strong partnership has developed between UPS and United Way based on a shared belief in working with communities to find innovative solutions that improve the quality of people’s lives. Executive Director, Cindy Lavender-Bowe says, “Here in the Greenbrier Valley, their support will enable a collaborative approach to problem-solving in the areas of health, income and education.”
UPS corporate philosophy is that wherever you do business, you are – or should be – a part of the community. By virtue of its business, UPS trucks and drivers serve almost every community every day, coming face-to-face with all walks of life and seeing firsthand the varying needs of each community in which they live and work. UPS is ever aware of urgent needs and is committed to addressing them.
