As the year draws to a close, the United Way of Greenbrier Valley is reaching out to community members to help make a meaningful impact with their year-end charitable contributions. Donations to the United Way support 32 local partner agencies working tirelessly to provide essential services to those in-need across our beautiful Greenbrier Valley.

Every year, the United Way of Greenbrier Valley brings together local organizations focused on improving the lives of our most vulnerable residents, from children and families to seniors and individuals experiencing hardship. Through your support, we are able to fund vital programs that address key issues, such as: education, health, financial stability, and emergency services.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have such a generous and caring community here in the Greenbrier Valley,” states Lauren Rainier, Executive Director of United Way of Greenbrier Valley. “The donations we receive, especially at this time of year, allow us to provide our partner agencies with the resources they need to continue their critical work. From providing meals and shelter, to offering youth mentorship and medical care for seniors, your gift goes a long way in ensuring that everyone in our valley has the opportunity to thrive.”

How Your Donation Helps:

  • Emergency Services: Funding food pantries, shelters, and disaster relief programs for individuals and families in immediate need.
  • Youth & Education: Supporting tutoring, after-school programs, and scholarships for local students, empowering the next generation.
  • Health & Wellness: Offering access to medical care, mental health services, and support for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
  • Financial Stability: Providing job training, financial literacy programs, and assistance with housing and utilities to help families achieve long-term stability.

“We truly believe in the power of community,” says Sharon Rowe, Board President of United Way of Greenbrier Valley. “When we all come together, we can create a lasting and positive impact on our neighbors and our region. Your gift, no matter the size, helps provide hope and opportunity to those who need it most.”

Making a donation is easy. Visit the United Way of Greenbrier Valley’s website at unitedwaygreenbrier.org, to give online, or you may walk into any City National Bank in Greenbrier, Pocahontas or Monroe counties, from now until Jan. 1, and deliver a check to a clerk. All donations are tax-deductible, and 100 percent of your gift stays within the Greenbrier Valley, to support individuals and families in-need. Together, we can make the Greenbrier Valley a stronger, more vibrant place for all.
