Labor Day weekend signals the end of summer vacations and back to school. The Union Area Chamber of Commerce is planning to end summer with an all day party on Main Street in Union, Monroe County on Saturday, Aug. 30.
Vendors, foods, flea market, music and classic car show are being organized. Most area businesses will be open all day offering special sales or activities. FRN of Monroe County will host a pancake breakfast at the Union Rescue Squad. The Monroe County Historical Society will be holding an open house and dedication of the newly constructed Carriage House which will showcase beautifully restored antique carriages and buggies. The Monroe County Arts Alliance is planning several events during the day.
In the evening there will be a Last Blast of Summer Car Show produced by AM Productions of Mercer County. The town will be treated to at least 100 classic vehicles. The show is open to all street rods, antiques, street machines, classics, customs, muscle car, motorcycles, and special interest vehicles. Vendors interested in selling unique products and Flea Marketers will need to submit an application. The number of vendors will be limited due to space availability. There is a fee for set-up.
