Mark your calendars! Trillium Performing Youth (TPY) will perform their annual showcase on Sunday, Apr. 22, at 3 p.m. at the Lewis Theatre in downtown Lewisburg.
Director Carli Mareneck comments, “I am so proud of TPY this year. I have rarely worked with a group this motivated, talented, and disciplined.”
Since 1999, with the support from Trillium Performing Arts Collective and the WV Commission on the Arts, TPY has provided free performances to residential homes for the elderly and public schools each spring. Dancers meet five hours per week September through May and work with several guest choreographers. This year’s group will also perform at the WV State Dance Festival and the Richmond Dance Festival.
Dancers are: Alex DeGraff, Mabel Eisenbeiss, Maggie Eggleston, Georgia Foster, Sarah Lore, Hannah Smart, Zenya Walters, and Sallie Wittkamper.
The showcase includes touring repertory and new works by the dancers.
“They are gifted young choreographers!”comments Mareneck.
Tickets benefit the TPY program. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and children age six and under are admitted for free! Call the Trillium office at 304-645-3003 for more information, or visit trilliumperformingarts.org.
