The Greenbrier County Public Library invites the public to swing into the Christmas spirit with the new group Treble ‘n Bass, the featured entertainment for the Operating Fund Drive Kick-Off Party Wednesday, Dec. 3, beginning at 6 p.m.
Treble ‘n Bass features 15 sopranos, tenors, altos and basses, performing with a band of piano, bass, drums and guitar players. This will be the group’s fourth performance, having debuted with the West Virginia Jazz Orchestra.
“I organized a group of local, talented singers after discovering that there were several of us who were anxious for opportunities to sing,” said Dena Williams. “We organized as a vocal club, and we meet once a month to rehearse with our band.”
Treble ‘n Bass will perform Christmas ballads, such as “Grownup Christmas List,” and such standards as “Over the Rainbow.”
The event is free to the public and will include light appetizers and wine.
This year’s fundraising goal is $60,000. Donations designated for the Operating Fund may be sent to Greenbrier County Public Library, 152 Robert W. McCormick Drive, Lewisburg, WV 24901. More information about the fund drive or library services is available by calling 647-7568.
