Lewisburg-Tommy L. Holbrook went home to meet his Lord on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at The Villages, FL, after a long illness.
He is survived by his soul mate, and number one fan, Judy Holbrook. He is also survived by his three sons and three step-children; Lane and wife Amy, Brian and wife Katie, Marc and wife Lauren, Paris Hudnall II and wife Angie, Charles Hudnall, and Amy Fields and husband Mark.
He was blessed with 16 grandchildren, Jessica Daniels and husband Dominique, Joshua Holbrook, Jackson Holbrook, Bryce Holbrook, Colton Holbrook, Shea Holbrook, Tucker Holbrook, Finley Holbrook, Emery Holbrook, Paris Hudnall III, Jennifer Weber, Michelle Hudnall, Nicholas Hudnall, Jacob Fields, Carter Fields, and Hayley Fields; five great-grandchildren; and his brother, Rudy Holbrook of Lindside.
Tom spent his life loving his family and his friends. He loved to give of himself, and anyone lucky enough to have met him will agree that they were the better for it. To everyone who allowed themselves to be a part of his amazing life, who willingly or unwillingly provided material for his stories – you’re welcome! You’ve been immortalized and the 15 minutes of fame he bestowed upon you have undoubtedly blessed more lives than you can imagine. For those of you reading this who never got the chance to know him I am truly sorry. Yon have no idea the joy you’ve missed out on in this life.
In the end he had one request …“I want to go home. I want to see my Lord!” I asked, as he pointed to the sky, if “home” was up in the air and he passed on his last bit of wisdom to me …“That’s where it starts. I love you all so much…” and then he slept.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, May 15, at Rhema Christian Center in Fairlea. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. in the main auditorium. Services will begin at 3 p.m. with Pastor Stewart Farley officiating.
