Since 1998, the Throttle Throbs have held car shows to establish scholarships. The scholarships are in memory of Greg Carter, who was a Greenbrier County Fireman who lost his life in the line of duty. 2015 was a good year for the club. With thanks to sponsors and show participants the club is awarding four $1,000 scholarships. Two will go to Greenbrier East and two to Greenbrier West. The school Guidance Counselors have been distributing the scholarship applications. Students are reminded the club has to have their applications by Mar. 1.
The club has decided to hold three shows for 2016. They will start their season May 28, at the White Sulphur Springs, Memorial Park. July 4th will be their Independence Day show at the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church in Alderson. The club will end their season by teaming up with the Edgewood Presbyterian Church Art & Craft show. They will hold a car show on the WV State Fairgrounds Sept. 17.
