Since 1998 the Throttle Throbs Car Club has held car shows to establish scholarships. With thanks to sponsors and attendees of the shows, the club will award six scholarships worth $1,000 each this year.
The three scholarships for Greenbrier West will go to Makayla Church of Rainelle, Alexis Vestal of Quinwood and Phelicity Robinson of Nettie.
The three scholarships for Greenbrier East will go to Andrew Seldomridge of Maxwelton, Abigail Loudermilk of Lewisburg and Hannah Beverly of White Sulphur Springs.
The scholarships are in memory of Greg Carter, who was a Greenbrier County Fireman who lost his life in the line of duty. The Throttle Throbs would like to thank everyone who made these presentations possible.
The club’s first show of the year will be on May 26, at the Greenbrier Valley Mall. For more information, contact President Ron Ness at 304-645-5055.
