Nutritious meals are offered at no cost for students 18 and under, Wednesday through Friday, from 4 to 6 p.m. During this uncertain time, the Hub Café (232 Lee Street, Lewisburg) continues to serve free dinners for students age 18 and under, every Wednesday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. Each evening features nutritious meals along with fun activities like board games, arts and crafts, and video games. Meals must be eaten on-site, and calling ahead helps us ensure there’s enough food for everyone. Students can also arrange bus transportation to the Hub from several Greenbrier County Schools with prior notice. For more information, please call 304-647-4994. A special thanks to the West Virginia Office of Child Nutrition’s CACFP Program for supporting this service.

November Menu:

Wednesdays: Activity – Board Game Night. Meal – Beef Goulash (ground beef and elbow noodles with tomato sauce) with salad and fruit

Thursdays: Activity: Arts and Crafts Night. Menu: Turkey with mashed potatoes, gravy, mixed vegetables, cranberry sauce, salad and fruit.

Fridays: Activity: Game Night – Video Games. Menu: Chicken & dumplings with vegetables, house salad and fruit

Meals for adults are available for purchase. Call 304-647-4994 for more information.

After-school Tutoring:

The Hub is accepting students for their after-school tutoring program Tuesdays through Fridays from 4 to 6 p.m. Sessions are in one-hour blocks and free of charge thanks to our generous volunteers from WVSOM and community members. We are also in need of additional volunteer tutors in the subjects of reading, spelling and math from grade 2-12. Contact Van at 304-647-4994 for more information.

Mini-Mornings: a bi-monthly gathering for little ones and their grown-ups on Nov. 20 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Mini Mornings perks include a $4 PB&J with fruit. Parents and caregivers receive 10% off on any Hub purchase. Come read, create, and connect with other little ones and their guardians! Fun arts and crafts included. This month’s paper activity is make your own pie and fall wreaths!

The Hub Cafe is a non-profit cafe and community space offering educational resources such as tutoring, workshops, events and a learn-and-earn program for teens. The Hub is powered by High Rocks Educational Corporation, whose mission is to educate, empower and inspire young people in West Virginia.
