Lewisburg-Thelma J. McQuade, 79, passed away of terminal causes Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015, at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea.
Thelma was born Apr. 14, 1936, in Ronceverte and was the oldest of 11 children to the late Webster M. and Erma Morgan Morgan.
She was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Ronceverte, a certified real estate appraiser owner of McQuade Appraisal Services, Greenbrier County Board of Realtors, Beckley Board of Realtors. She enjoyed flower gardening, her cats, painting and baking.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, John William McQuade III; and sisters, Glenna Bradley, Theda Campbell and Linda Shope.
She is survived by her son Stan McQuade; daughter, Jewel Bishop; grandchildren, Corey McQuade, Leslie McQuade, Jason McDaniels and Christina Sowers; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha Harrison, Marsha Wickline and Joanne Honaker; brothers, Jessie Morgan, Andrew Morgan, David Morgan and Joey Morgan.
Christian Burial Mass was held Saturday, Aug. 15, at the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ronceverte with Father Chapin Engler as the officiant. Entombment followed in the Greenbrier Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lewisburg. There was no visitation per Thelma’s request.
Nephews and family members served as pallbearers.
